Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale: Saturday, July 27, 10am-5pm in the library. Hundreds of items! Something for everyone! $1/item or $5/bag. Donations for the sale gratefully accepted at the library.
The Library will be collecting donations for Red Deer’s Street Ties Youth Outreach Program at our book sale. Street Ties is a drop-in centre where youth ages 13-21 can get what they need to minimize the risks they face on the street. No matter the choices they make, they are welcome every day or whenever they wish to visit. The program is in particular need of the following items: Non-perishable food items, especially snacks and cereal; new, clean, empty water bottles for water; hygiene items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorants, menstrual products, hair brushes; new socks and underwear. Genealogy Club: The library provides a time and space on the third Tuesday of the month, for family history enthusiasts to convene and share tips, advice and stories. Everyone is welcome to attend drop-in meetings -- no registration required. Genealogy Club will break for the summer.
